Brooklyn photos....

Misc Pics

Another good day....

Brooklyn was released from the hospital today. She is doing much better and we are hoping it will stay that way. She has a follow up appointment on Monday to insure all is continuing to go well. I took some more pictures today and will try and update them by tomorrow. We are all still a little run down and tired. But the clock is counting down. Short time left :)
We bought her a nice little hat today for her to wear to church if she is up to it.
It is funny the Vietnamese people are so grateful for us to be bring her to the U.S. when we are so grateful that we were chosen as parents for her.
Still a lot of Tet celebrations going on, but at least most of the business are opening back up. When they say this place closes up they are not kidding. There was not a large store open anywhere to get supplies. I had to go for a walk to find a store open and what an adventure that was. There were some times I had to question my safety. It is funny that when you walk with your family everyone here is so friendly, but walk alone and it’s much a different story.
I rode on the back of a scooter yesterday to go to the hospital. Now that was a life risking event.
It was a great fast cheap way to get there, but wow you think riding in a NY taxi is exciting. Try having a full size bus heading right at you and you are on his side of the street passing him on the left. lol
Well I hope everyone is doing well and look forward to seeing you all.

Today was a good day....

Hello everyone,
Brooklyn is still in the hospital and she is doing well. She has been being treated for asthma and bronchitis. It was a blessing we took her in when we did; the couple days of treatment have made all the difference in the world. We had her Visa medical today and because of catching all this when we did she passed and will be aloud to travel back to the states. If she had come in with out receiving the treatment she has had, she would have failed and we could have been here two weeks more. Only one more hurdle to jump and we are done with everything and on our way home.
Angie is staying with her tonight as I had spent the last two nights at the hospital with her. They only allow one parent to stay. The hospital is very good, although very old when compared to the states, and very few people speak English. French, Chinese, and Vietnamese are the language of choice.
If all goes well Brooklyn should be released tomorrow night and we have our finial interview at the American Embassy on Monday. Then we should receive her visa and back to the U.S. on the 2nd.
I try and write more later, but for now I am real tired. It was hard to sleep, and the nurses think we are crazy but Angie and I feel it is our job to take care of her. So we do all the feedings, handling, and bathing and she eats every three hours almost on the mark, which doesn’t leave a lot of time for sleep. :)
The other families are doing well and the other children have passed all their physicals as well. Today was a good day.

Sorry about the delay in updating....

It has been a busy few days. Brooklyn is doing well, but we were concerned with her cold not getting better. So we took her to the doctors again today. She is OK but apparently she is showing signs of Baby asthma . So They are going to keep her for a few days at the hospital and treat her for it.
I want to reiterate that all and all she is doing great. She smiles all the time, talks to us and is a great baby to have. She has been gaining weight and currently weighs in around 11.6 lbs. The doctor has said that when we get her home she will do much better. The air conditions here are terrible. One of the other fathers here has fallen sick to do to the air conditions as well and has been down for three days or so. We actually have been looking forward to the rain here because it helps clear the air of pollution.
Keeps us in your prayers as it is very hard to have your child in a hospital for any reason. I will stay with her tonight as they only allow one parent to stay. Hopefully by tomorrow she will be ready to come back to the hotel.
Only a little longer and we will be on our way home. It has been a nice visit and we have seen a lot of new things, and even though there is a lot of beauty here, we are ready to come home and have our family together.

I will keep you all up to date as I can.

Just a few more pictures

Suday update

Hello everyone, This is Brooklyn in her Sunday Church Dress.

Everything is going well its just hard to sit around waiting for the holiday to get over so that we can finish the process and go home.

We have been fortunate enough to have been invited to the some of the Tet celebrations buy the owners of the hotel. They are truly great people with a huge heart. The night before last there was fire works and celebration.

This afternoon we walked a couple of miles with another family here, Regan, Brad and Jackson" their baby boy" to the "market" its kind of like the boarder towns in Mexico. You can get some good deals but the street vendors can be annoying and pester you a lot. We bought a few things but then it started to get very warm and we decided to get a taxi back to the hotel. It is very good for Brooklyn that we live in Washington as her skin at this moment does not like the heat at all.

Speaking of our darling daughter.... She has been doing great. She smiles all the time and trys her best to talk with us. Today shes back to being a daddy's girl, but yesterday she was defiantly mommies little treasure. She seams to be bonding with us both just at different times. She like to run her hands over my goatee. and she loves to be held.

Last night was the first night she sleep in her bassinet all night. I think I had a harder time with it then she did. I still want to check on her all the time to make sure she is OK.

I hope all is well back home,

Miss you all,

Jac
